Retired colleague Valerie Suppa and her grand daughter
Valerie Suppa is one of our colleagues who retired over the summer. We asked her to share a few thoughts with us as we wished her the best in this next chapter.
What is your favorite Memory at McGill?
I guess I would say the most memorable would be the appreciation the students showed me for my help on a daily basis. Nothing makes working more rewarding when we feel appreciated. Also the friends I have made. We are like a family. I hope to continue our dinners together on a monthly basis. One good thing about the strike was making and getting to know more from different departments.
What are you most looking forward to having more time to do?
I hope to enjoy doing what I love, knitting, reading, speaking and visiting with friends and family; especially in Vermont where I am from. Also trying to delete my hundreds of e-mails and communicating with friends with long overdue letters. Of course spending time with my grandchildren and being there for my daughters if needed.
