In honour of International Women's Day, Movie Club will be discussing Miss Representation. Watch the trailer.
This film "exposes how mainstream media contributes to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence. It challenges the media's limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls, which make it difficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful herself. Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize - Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival". --from Kanopy.

A Special Announcement from the Gibsons & District Library Foundation:
Due to an apparent shortage of dishes needing to be washed and dried during COVID-19, sales of the '10 reasons to visit the Gibsons Public Library’ tea towels will be suspended as of March 13th until further notice. The underlying cause of this phenomenon is unknown. But it could be attributed to the unfortunate resurgence of single use flatware and cutlery with the jump in takeout. Well, that’s what we’re thinking.
So either swing by the Library or contact the Foundation at info@gibsonslibraryfoundation.ca before it’s too late.
We’ll let you know when sales are scheduled to resume. In the meantime - be kind, be calm, be safe.
