FAM TOUR Fall 2018


 

Sudbury Tourism FAM Tour for Front-line Staff!

 

Do you know what’s new and exciting to do in Sudbury? Sudbury Tourism hosted the Fall/Winter Familiarization Tour to front-line staff and participants to experience and increase their knowledge of some of Sudbury's attractions and hidden gems. The goal is to build a new wave of tourism ambassadors and help visitors #DiscoverSudbury this FALL/WINTER!

What's New

 

 

 

Municipal Accommodations Tax (MAT) Resources

 

 

With the implementation of the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) having come into effect Saturday, September 1, 2018, we understand that staff and guests may still have questions. As such, we have the following resources available for our accommodation partners and guests: 
 

  • A rack card developed with your staff training needs in mind. These cards can be used as a quick reference for key questions from guests;
     
  • A business card to provide guests with should they have additional questions about the (MAT) which directs them to contact the City of Greater Sudbury.

Should you require additional rack or business cards at any time, please contact Sudbury Tourism by e-mail at sudburytourism.ca or by phone at 705-673-4161. 

 

If you would like more information on the Municipal Accommodation Tax, visit the MAT webpage. For questions regarding implementation please contact mat@greatersudbury.ca or call 705-674-4455 ext 4344. MAT remittances can be processed at the Citizen Service Centre at 200 Brady Street at Tom Davies Square.

2019 Sudbury Tourism Marketing Partnership Program

What is it? The Sudbury Tourism Marketing Partnership Program allows you to leverage and amplify your marketing dollars while becoming a part of a $500,000+ annual marketing program.  


How much does it cost? Return on Investment? For the base Partnership fee, Partners receive a listing on the website, digital information kiosks as well as inclusion in Sudbury Tourism’s official social media channels, online Events Calendar and Offers page for the 2019 calendar year.

Additional programs are available “à la carte” to help partners increase their visibility and generate leads online, in print, in person and through the digital kiosks. Additionally, the partnership provides
opportunities to network, access to industry news, tools and resources as well as experience some of Sudbury’s attractions throughout the year.

Fall / Winter Visitor Guide 2018/19 – The Ultimate Resource Tool 
 


The 2018-19 Fall / Winter Visitor Guides are being distributed throughout the city. With a print run of 20,000 copies, distribution of the guides include 20+ rack locations throughout the city, numerous tourist information outlets across Ontario, to local event organizers for out-of-town participants, to trade shows and conferences outside of the community, and by request via e-mail and phone. We encourage front-line staff to refer to or use our Visitor Guide as a resource tool as well as our website and events calendar for all the best #ThingstoDoinSudbury

 

Located at the bottom of our Homepage, the Visitor Guide can also be downloaded or viewed online at sudburytourism.ca/vg

TV Monitor Sudbury Tourism Slides Available



Sudbury Tourism is providing digital slides with visitor information for display at the Greater Sudbury Airport. The slides are updated weekly at the airport, but can be updated on a monthly basis. These engaging image slides are easily uploaded to smart TVs or monitors that are compatible for main lobbies, restaurants or gathering places.

Letter of Interest Submitted to Host to the
2019 Tourism Northern Ontario Tourism Summit 

 

The City of Greater Sudbury submitted a letter of interest to Tourism Northern Ontario to host the 2019 Northern Ontario Tourism Summit which will host leaders from the Northern Ontario tourism industry.

 

This year's 3-day conference is being held November 13–15th, 2018 at the Quattro Hotel + Conference Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Topics of discussion include:
