Sudbury Tourism Staff Updates
 

Following the retirement of Sandy Brouse in February, Trisha Lavigne has assumed the role of Technical Coordinator. Trisha will be your contact for the Sudbury Tourism Partnership; this will include web listings, Brochure Rack Program and Visitor Guide distribution, as well as social media or event calendar inquires.

Dana Jennings has taken over the Event Support Program after Sandy’s departure and will be instrumental in assisting new or existing clients bring their visions to fruition. Through funding, support, collateral, and awareness, this program continues to assist in generating new and attractive tourism offerings for Sudbury.
 

Kelly Bonnell has taken on the role of Major Events Development Officer, focusing on the meetings, convention and sport tournament sector.

If you haven’t visited already, we have re-designed our OFFERS page. Included are the featured Anyday Getaway package promotion, our partner Visitor Guide coupons, as well as other submitted promotions. Promotions can be uploaded by Partners and non-partners via on-line form.

As a Sudbury Tourism Partner, we make every effort to find, post and share available content whenever possible on our website and/or within our social media channels. We remind all of our partners to submit or tag @sudburytourism for all upcoming events, announcements, promotions and offerings you may have that are relevant  or open to the general public – By tagging us on social media, we receive real-time notifications allowing us to find, add, and/or promote them more efficiently. Spring/Summer Visitor Guide 2018 – The ultimate resource tool 
 


The 2018 Spring/Summer visitor guides are now on the brochure racks. With a print run of 45,000 copies, distribution has already begun to over 20 rack locations throughout Sudbury, numerous tourist information outlets across Ontario, local event organizers for out-of-town participants, tradeshows and conferences outside of the community, and by request over the website and phone. We have already distributed over 8,100 guides in the first three months alone! 

 

We also encourage front-line staff to refer to, or use our Visitor Guide as a resource tool as well as our website and events calendar for all #ThingstoDoinSudbury.  Located at the bottom of our Homepage, it can also be downloaded or viewed online,  or at sudburytourism.ca/vg

TV Monitor Sudbury Tourism Slides Available



Sudbury Tourism is providing digital slides with visitor information for display at the Greater Sudbury Airport. The slides are updated weekly at the airport, but can be updated on a monthly basis. These engaging image slides are easily uploaded to smart TVs or monitors that are compatible for main lobbies, restaurants or gathering places.

The October Labour Force Survey

 

Greater Sudbury's unemployment rate sits at 6.1% which is down from 7.4% in October last year. The number of people of employed have decreased to 82,000 down from 83,500 in October 2016. The participation rate is at 62.2% which is down from 64.3% in the same period last year.

 

Ontario's unemployment dropped to 5.7% while the national rate remains unchanged at 6.2%.
