Website(s) Update/Transition
Launched December 21, 2018  |  |  |

We greatly value our partners and the important role you serve in attracting visitors and encouraging local tourism. In recent months, Greater Sudbury Development Corporation and Sudbury Tourism have been experiencing decreased functionality of its websites. Our websites are an essential tool in promoting tourism and attracting visitors and community members to discover what Sudbury has to offer.

We have been working with the experts in the City of Greater Sudbury’s IT Department in order to provide the level of service we want to offer to our partners, visitors and community members. We will have migrated our website content to new temporary websites as of December 21, 2018. There will be no interruption in accessing our websites during this transition.

We will be making every effort to ensure that existing resources, tools and information are captured on the new temporary websites. Of course, as partners, your information remains a top priority and we appreciate your patience during this transitional phase. We look forward to launching our official new website in Q3/Q4 2019. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us:

Meetings, Conventions & Sport Tourism

Ontario Motor Coach Association Marketplace
November 10 – 12   |  Windsor, ON

Tourism staff attended the Ontario Motor Coach Association Marketplace November 10 – 12 in Windsor, ON. The Conference marketing approach included a sponsored operator breakfast, supported by Sudbury and Northeastern Ontario Tourism, networking events, and one-on-one appointments. The operator breakfast hosted 75 tour operators and provided targeted updates and tour itinerary inspiration. Sudbury completed 29 seven minute appointments if which 2/3 were requested by Tour Operators working with the Students, Mixed Adult and Senior markets. Follow-up with each contact made will be part of the effort to not only grow the number of tours visiting Sudbury but to extend stays of existing group tour business.

Do you have an offering for groups of 20-50 people that we need to know about?

The City of Greater Sudbury and ArtsBuild Ontario officially launched SpaceFinder Sudbury to artists and creative spaces in the City of Greater Sudbury on Friday, November 23rd, 2018. Billed as an “Air BnB” for artists, SpaceFinder is a free online directory for artists to search for multidisciplinary spaces, and for creative space venues to promote their rentals. SpaceFinder is designed to help increase the visibility of creative spaces, empowering artists to easily find space in English or French, and helping venues promote their under-utilized rental space.
