FONOM 2019

The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities will be hosted by the City of Greater Sudbury May 8-10 2019. The theme for this year’s conference is Leadership. Resilience. Innovation. This year’s theme challenges our northern leaders to work together and develop new ways to take action in an ever-changing landscape.

This annual conference is the perfect opportunity to gain valuable insight into various municipal matters, while connecting with municipal colleagues from across Northeastern Ontario. Greater Sudbury is excited for the opportunity to showcase its community and offerings to the Northern leaders and is working hard to make sure this is a unique and memorable experience.

Northern Ontario municipal politicians, senior municipal and government staff are the target audience for this conference; essentially the municipal decision makers of today. Participation in the FONOM Conference as a sponsor is a great opportunity for suppliers, vendors and professionals to reach our delegates and show your support for Northern Ontario.

For information about sponsorship opportunities please visit: www.greatersudbury.ca/fonom and click on the 'Sponsors' tab, or email MeetHere@greatersudbury.ca

Sudbury Film Industry Update

2018 was a record year for the film industry in Sudbury. While total productions numbered 15 for 2018, which is not the highest number of productions in a single year, local spending reached 35 million for 2018. This indicates productions are getting larger and with 580 days of filming productions are staying for longer durations. Sudbury hosted a larger number of television shows which included Bad Blood, V-Wars, Letterkenny and Amélie. While it is still too early to know how many or which productions will be filming in Sudbury, 2019 will be another busy year for the industry.
