Spell Your Science Workshop series

 

August 8 - 29

 

Spell your Science is a FREE series of workshops for graduate students to learn the basics of communicating their science to the public and the media. Encourage your students to joi the group every Wednesday in August on the downtown campus! Registration priority will be given to McGill graduate students who can attend all four workshops (August 8, 15, 22, and 29).

Graduate Orientation

Orientation is a great time for all new graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to familiarize themselves with the University and find answers to burning questions. Events during this period include (among others) Academic Expectations week, Grads Connect, the Discover McGill Services Fair, the PGSS BBQ, and the Mac Campus Orientation.

GitHub Classroom Module Demonstration

McGill internal GitHub is currently available to pilot phase participants, including students, instructors and anyone performing academic, non-profit research. A demo session will be held August 14, 1:00-2:00pm, to show how to use AD Groups and the GitHub Classroom Module, and how to automate repository creation and access control.

 

 

Pin courses to your list in myCourses

In the course drop-down list, pin courses that you access frequently so they appear at the top of your course list. This will make it easier to flip between course sites. 

 

 

Library Catalogue Upgrade

On August 6, the Library will upgrade the existing catalogue and search tool to its successor, WorldCat Discovery. As part of the upgrade, course reserves for the 2018-2019 academic year will be accessible solely through WorldCat Discovery. For questions/ feedback please contact discovery.library@mcgill.ca
