Introduction to numeric data cleaning using SPSS

This hands-on SPSS workshop will use census data from Statistics Canada to introduce attendees to basic data management functions, including: importing, aggregating, transposing, splitting files for further analysis, as well as doing transformations, such as recoding variables.

Wikipedia & Québec's LGBTQ+ community

Come help us improve existing or even create Wikipedia articles on Québec LGBTQ+ artists, spaces, current events and historical events. Together, we can give visibility to an often invisible community, the Québec LGBTQ+ community, in Wikipedia. Participants will learn how to create a Wikipedia account, add references/modify existing articles and create new articles.

Data visualization using R and APA style

 

 

Starting March 15

10:00 - 11:30am

 

Learn how to produce quality plots using R’s ggplot2 package and apply an APA style theme. A tabular dataset will be imported into R as a data frame. Participants will plot up to 3 variables in a single plot to illustrate stacked plotting. This workshop will also show some basic functions, such as “aggregate.”

Instructors may add up to three questions to their course evaluation questionnaire. This is an opportunity to receive feedback specific to the course context or your teaching, such as the use of new teaching strategies.

myCourses tip: Using the Intelligent Agents tool in myCourses

You can use the Intelligent Agents tool to automatically send email notifications to students based on established conditions. For instance, you can create an agent that will send an email when a student has not logged into your course in a certain number of days.
